Michael “Lem” Lembek ( born Michael Lembeck , born June 25, 1948 in Brooklyn , New York , USA ) is an American actor , film and television director [1] .

The early years

Michael Lembek was born on June 25, 1948 in the family of Carolina Dubs and Harvey Lembek (same actor). He graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1966, among his classmates were Rob Reiner , Albert Brooks and Richard Dreyfus [1] .

After he continued his acting studies at Los Angeles City College and California State University. He additionally took singing and dance lessons, and performed in summer productions. He toured with the original production of Broadway 's national hit , "Briolin," with John Travolta as a roommate.

Career

He began his career as an actor in the late 1960s, and as a director in the 1970s. His most notable film roles are Julie Cooper's husband, Max Horvath, in the comedy Once Upon a Time . He played the newsletter of Clete Meisenheimer in the series Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman . He also played Captain Cool from "Captain Cool" and Konga in the Krofft Super Show from 1976 to 1978. He is also known for his role as Vinnie Fazio in the movie “Guys from Company C” in 1978 [1] .

Lembek collaborated with actor Peter Boyle in films in Santa Claus 2 and The Santa Claus Contract 3 . Lembek also shot Boyle in several episodes of the series Everyone Loves Raymond. [1]

Now Lembek works only as a film and television director.

Personal life

Younger sister (b. 1952) - actress Helani Lembek. He was twice married. The first wife is actress Barbara Deutsch (married on June 16, 1977) - 1 child. The second wife - actress Lorna Patterson - two children [1] .

Rewards

He won an Emmy for his work as the director of Friends on the episode Episode After the Super Bowl in 1996 for outstanding personal achievements in directing the comedy series, and directed 20 other episodes of the series. Later, another 3 times was nominated for an Emmy in different categories [1] .
