Story
The Italian mafia kidnaps Lois, the daughter of Robert Torrens and his wife. 15 years pass. Lois grows in Italy under the name Peppina. To avoid a marriage with a hated count, she transforms into a boy, escapes to America and on board a ship gets acquainted with District Attorney Hugh Carroll. In New York, a girl confronts her kidnapper. He forces Peppina, who is still in a boyish guise, to help him in his dark affairs, for which she is arrested by the police . Peppina extradits the kidnapper to the authorities, and the prosecutor Carroll recognizes his companion in the boy. In the end, everything is resolved safely - the offender goes to jail, Peppina reunites with her parents, and Carroll, finding out who she really is, marries her.
