In horse breeding, the school is a relatively small, 9–30 head [1] , separate family group of horses , consisting of several mares (usually 12–20 heads), their foals and one producer stallion [2] .
Shoals are made for the period of breeding horses in order to conduct their free mating , after which the animals are again combined into herds (each of which includes several former shoals) [2] . In the spring of the next season, mares and stallions, which belonged to different schools, were separated from the herd, and a new school was made of them [1] .
