Biography
Born on February 15 (28), 1914 at the Gotnya station (now the village of Proletarsky, Rakityansky district, Belgorod region ). Since 1924 he lived in the city of Krasny Liman, Donetsk region ( Ukraine ). He worked at the Krasny Liman depot as a senior engineer.
During the Great Patriotic War he was an engineer-instructor and commander of a platoon of people's militia .
After the war, Krasny Liman returned to the depot . The first to offer to repair the engine with locomotive and complex teams. Together with specialists, he developed a tightened schedule for the rotation of the engine, reduced the parking time at linear stations for water collection and cleaning the furnace. These measures allowed to increase the norm of technical speed by 7 kilometers per hour and dramatically increase the average daily mileage of the engine. He also proposed several original technical solutions to increase the performance of a steam locomotive: a device for cleaning and boiling pipes of steam superheater elements; improvement of the cone exhaust system; economical sandbox nozzle; steam locomotive equipment with a slag humidifier; combined heating. His locomotive FD20-2041 was declared a steam locomotive laboratory.
He continued to work as an instructor-engineer, tested locomotives after lifting and factory repairs, and took an active part in the development of recovery schemes. Since 1978, he worked as a master-mentor in Krasnolimansk PTU-119.
He died in April 1991.
