The Critics' Choice Television Award is an American award created and awarded by the Association of Television Journalists [1] . The award was established in 2011, and the first ceremony took place on June 20 of that year and was broadcast live on channel VH1 [2] [3] .

Prize History
The Critics' Choice Television Award was founded in early 2011 as an offshoot of the Television Critics Association awards. The ceremony is produced by Bob Bane. [4] According to the president of the Television Journalists Association, the ceremony was created with the aim of expanding the powers of television journalists and as the television equivalent of various film critics awards [5] .
