Diocese of Cairo ( Latin: Eparchia Cahirensis Maronitarum ) - Diocese of the Maronite Catholic Church . The Diocese of Cairo extends its jurisdiction to Egypt and Sudan . The cathedral of the Cairo diocese is the church of St. Joseph in the city of Cairo.

History

In 1904, the Holy See established the Patriarchal Vicariate for the faithful of the Maronite Church, who lived in Egypt.

On June 22, 1946, Pope Pius XII issued the Bull Inter praecipuas , which transformed the patriarchal vicariate into a Cairo diocese for the faithful of the Maronite Catholic Church living in Egypt and Sudan.
