Moldless tillage

Hackpflug.jpg

Soilless tillage - tillage by plane cutter, chisel [ unknown term ] - cultivator . During subsurface tillage, the arable layer is not wrapped with the preservation of crop residues on the soil surface.

On vast plains and unprotected soils from wind erosion, plains (lands of North America, virgin lands of Kazakhstan ), the use of the traditional dump plow did not justify itself. Especially for smooth plowing scientists [ what? ] developed [ when? ] subsurface plow ( plane cutter ). Thus, for loosening the soil to a depth of 40 cm without turning the reservoir, shells are used that do not have a blade [1] .

In certain soil, climatic and agrotechnical conditions, it is advisable to carry out subsurface tillage instead of plowing. Reception is effective in conditions of insufficient moisture, soils susceptible to wind erosion, and on sloping lands.

Increases soil resistance to erosion, especially wind, contributes to snow retention , moisture is better preserved during the warm period and favorable conditions are created for the conservation of humus . Soil structure is less disturbed, which has a positive effect especially on low-fertile soils with a low-power humus horizon.

However, this method also has its drawbacks, since it requires a particularly high crop culture and strict adherence to the terms of agricultural work , depending on the climate. The seeds of some species of weeds are not suppressed and receive favorable conditions for development. The stubble remains of plants do not move underground and can be a source of the development of a number of diseases.

Moldless tillage as a whole is an interesting but difficult to develop method, which is not always justified under normal conditions (a high labor culture and professionalism of the farmer and agronomist are required in order to reveal its full potential).
