Hydej [1] [2] [3] , or Haye [1] [2] , or Chaya [1] [2] , or Chiya [1] [2] ( Pers. هیدج , Azeri. Hidəc ) - a city on northwest of Iran , in the province of Zanjan . It is part of the Shakhrestan Abkhar . The fifth most populated city in the province [3] .

Geography
The city is located in the eastern part of Zanjan, in a mountainous area, at an altitude of 1610 meters above sea level [1] . Hydej is located approximately 70 kilometers southeast of Zanjan , the provincial capital and 200 kilometers west-northwest (WNW) of Tehran , the country's capital.
Population
As of 2006, the population was 11,798 people [3] ; Azerbaijanis predominate in the national composition, Shiite Muslims predominate in the confessional.
