Biography
He graduated from the parish school . In 1905, not wanting to get married, he entered the church in the name of the Passion of the Lord in Saratov , then for eight years he was a singer on the choir in the Holy Danilov Monastery (Moscow). In 1913-1914, he was an economist at the bishop’s house of the bishop of Turkestan and Tashkent Innocent in Verny (now Alma-Ata ). Since 1914 - the psalmist of the Alexander Nevsky Seminary Church ( Tashkent ).
In 1915 he was mobilized into the army, served as a psalm-reader at the regimental field church. In 1917, miraculously avoided being shot by bandits.
In August 1918, after his marriage, he was ordained deacon . In 1923 he returned to the Saratov province, but it was not possible to reconcile with his father, a dissatisfied son for the chosen path of the clergyman, who was dangerous at that time, and the wife of his son, who was not artful in peasant labor. Father Vasily left with his family in Saratov; served as a deacon in the Peter and Paul Cathedral . In the early 1930s, due to famine in the Volga region, he moved with his family to the Moscow region - to the village of Markovo, then was appointed to the church of the village of Ilyinsky Pogost in the Kurovsky district.
In 1936 he was transferred to St. Nicholas Church in the village of Parfentievo, Kolomensky District , where, in addition to deaconess, he was engaged in the restoration of wall paintings. In the fall of 1936, the abbot of the church was arrested, and the temple was planned for closing. At the request of the parishioners, Vasily was ordained a presbyter [3] . At the beginning of 1937 the temple was still closed; On January 13, 1938, Father Vasily was appointed to the Transfiguration Church in the village of Bolshie Vyazemy, Zvenigorod District.
February 15, 1938 on the feast of the Presentation of the Lord was arrested; the search did not yield results. He was held in a Mozhaisk prison; during interrogation he did not plead guilty to counter-revolutionary activities and spread slander against the Soviet government. On February 19, 1938, the NKVD troika was sentenced to be shot, transferred to the Tagansk prison . He was shot on February 26, 1938 and buried in an unknown grave at the Butovo training ground near Moscow.
