The European Figure Skating Championship of 1947 was held from January 31 to February 2, 1947 in Davos ( Switzerland ) after a seven-year break associated with the Second World War . The championship was held in the categories of men's single skating , women's single skating and pair skating . In addition to European athletes, skaters from Canada , the USA and Australia took part in it. The representative of Switzerland, Hans Gerschwiller , won against the men, and for the first time in the entire history of the European championships, the athletes from another continent, the representatives of Canada Barbara Scott, won against women Belgian figure skaters Micheline Lannoy and Pierre Bonnier won among the couples.
