Development History
- June 2004 - signing of a letter of intent between AMC-GROUP [1] and BAIC.
- March 2006 - the creation of BAU Motor Corporation LLC as a distributor of BAW automobiles.
- October 2006 - sales of light and medium trucks BAW Fenix began.
- March 2007 - an agreement on the organization of assembly production of BAW cars in the city of Ulyanovsk.
- In 2008, a production site was acquired on the territory of the former Ulyanovsk Heavy and Unique Machine Tool Plant . By mid-2009, three workshops had been prepared for mounting a modern assembly line for assembly, an infrastructure and a logistics network had been formed [2] .
- February 2009 - a Russian VIN number was received for BAW trucks of the year 2009.
- 2010 - launch of assembly production using SKD technology .
- July-August 2010 - production of BAW 33463 Tonik light-duty trucks and BAW 2245 Street buses was launched.
- July 2011 - an agreement was signed between the Chinese corporation BAIEC (part of the BAIC holding) and the Ulyanovsk company AMS-Avto on the creation of a joint venture for the full-scale production of commercial vehicles in Ulyanovsk on the basis of BAU Motor Corporation LLC.
- 2012 - Construction and launch of our own line for painting cabs and bodies, the start of production of BAW cars in a full cycle.
- 2013 - Launch of the production of a bus of its own design for the BAW Express intercity class.
- 2014 - Development, design and testing of a BAW 33462-102 gas truck with a carrying capacity of 1700kg.
- 2015 - Launch of the promising gas truck with the Russian ZMZ engine, as well as the production of a bi-fuel version of the city bus.
- 2016 - Two companies, LLC Tekhnomir (Ulyanovsk) and LLC Avtosistema ( Moscow Region , Dzerzhinsky ), on June 24 filed for bankruptcy. This was preceded by a landslide drop in sales in 2015 [3] . In the first half of 2016, only 100 trucks were sold. Also, two buses were made that did not find buyers [4] .
- On April 4, 2017, the arbitration court introduced the monitoring procedure [5] . However, in the same year, the plant was reborn - on July 10, at the Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg , an agreement was signed between the government of the Ulyanovsk Region , the Japanese company Isuzu , which already has its own plant in Ulyanovsk; and the Ulyanovsk company SIMAZ. It involves the start of production of buses in Ulyanovsk on the Isuzu chassis [6] [7] . Production began in January 2018 on the premises of the former BAU-Rus plant [8] [9] .
The design capacity of the enterprise is 25 thousand cars per year with two-shift work in 2016. [ten]
