Afag Vagif kizi Sultanova ( azerb. Afaq Vaqif qızı Sultanova ) is an Azerbaijani Paralympic judoka , performing in the weight category up to 57 kilograms and the category of blindness B3, world champion in 2010 [2] and winner of the 2011 World Games [3] . She represented Azerbaijan at the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games in London as the reigning world champion [4] and won the gold medal [1] .

Biography
Afag Vagif kizi Sultanova was born on February 20, 1987 in Baku. Before judo Afag Sultanova was engaged in karate . At 13, she began practicing judo. In 2008, she won victories at the youth world and European championships. However, the trauma that led to visual impairment caused her to retire. Inspired by his compatriot Ilham Zakiev , who, being completely blind, managed to become a two-time Paralympic champion, Afag continued training [5] .
In 2010, she became the world champion, and in 2012 she won gold at the Paralympic Games in London , defeating Brazilian Lucia da Silva Teixeira in the finale [5] . Afag Sultanova became the first Azerbaijani woman to win the gold of the Paralympics.
Currently, Sultanova also helps to disseminate sports and Paralympic values among children with health problems [5] . By order of the President of Azerbaijan dated September 14, 2012, Sultanov was awarded the Order of Shokhrat (Glory) [6] and she was awarded an Olympic scholarship [7] . He lives in the village of Amirjan , Baku [7] .
In November 2015, Sultanova won the bronze medal of the European Championship, held in Portugal , in the city of Odivelas [8] . In the same year she won bronze at the World Games in Seoul [9] .
In 2016, in accordance with the decree of the President of Azerbaijan, Sultanova was awarded the “Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan” for her services in developing the Paralympic movement in Azerbaijan [10] .
In 2017, she won the Islamic Solidarity Games held in Baku [11] .
