Content

History

The question of the construction of a mosque arose from the moment of the organization of the Muslim community (1996). At the initial stages of the activities of the Muslim community of the city, premises for holding juma-namaz and holidays were rented from various organizations (regional trade union center, gyms, etc.). Primary documentation for the construction of a mosque was approved by the town planning council. The project of a mosque was selected on a competitive basis from 12 projects. The two-storey spacious mosque was built in 1998—2001. according to the project of the Vologda architect A. V. Borisovskiy in the original style combining elements of eclecticism and traditional Muslim architecture. Officially registered with the state institution of justice in 2004.
