Career

Club

Chanturia started his football career at home. Until 2009, he played in the Saburtalo club from the Vake-Saburtalo district of Tbilisi . The young football player spent the 2009/10 season in Barcelona for the youth on loan, in the summer of 2010 the Georgian player came back [1] . In August of the same year, he joined the Vitesse Club from the Netherlands. Originally, Chanturia played only for the youth team. But at the beginning of the next 2011/12 season, the football player signed a professional contract for three years with the possibility of renewal for another two years. The agreement entered into force on July 1, 2011 [2] .

On August 7, 2011, Chanturia made his debut in Eredivizi , coming out in the starting lineup for the game “Vitesse” - “ ADO Den Haag ”. The meeting ended in a goalless draw, and the Georgian footballer received a yellow card at the 55th minute [3] . Already on August 13, the player scored his first goal for a new team, hitting the BBB-Venlo gate in the 89th minute, as a result of which the final score was established - 4: 0 [4] . On October 16, Georgy scored with a goal in the 34th minute of the match with NEC , and on the 57th was sent off. As a result, this ball was the only one, and the yellow-black celebrated a minimal victory over the opponent [5] . In total, in the 2011/12 season, Chanturia played 25 games in the Netherlands Championship and scored 4 goals. According to the results of that season, Vitesse took the 7th place and took part in a series of playoffs for the right to play in European competitions.

On December 24, 2012, the football player agreed with the Vladikavkaz Alania about playing for the club on loan until the end of the year with the right of subsequent redemption [6] . May 23, 2013 was disqualified for eight matches for a clash with the players of Dynamo Moscow during the match of the 29th round of the Russian Premier League [7] [8] . February 19, 2014 Chanturia joined the Romanian club “ CFR ” [9] , but in March announced that at the end of the season he would sign a contract with “ Hellas Verona ” [10] . On June 12, the footballer’s transition to the Italian club took place [11] [12] .

In the national team

Chanturia has been called up to the youth teams of Georgia since 2008. His performances for the team under 19 years old were quite successful: on May 25, 2012, he scored a goal in a friendly game with Bosnia (4: 2 final score in favor of Georgia), and on May 30, a double of a football player helped his team win over the Austrians (2: 1 ) [13] .

Since 2011, Georgy Chanturia has been a member of the Georgian youth team . In September 2011, he took part in the qualifying match of the European Championship among youth teams against peers from Spain . The meeting ended with a crushing defeat of the Georgian team 2: 7, Chanturia was replaced in the 76th minute [14] .

On March 5, 2014, Chanturia made his debut in the first Georgian national team: in a friendly match with Liechtenstein (2: 0), the footballer scored a winning goal [15] .
