Biography
He grew up in the Paris suburb of Issy-les-Moulineaux , graduated from the Paris Conservatory , where Cesar Frank and Jules Massenet were his teachers. He performed as a conductor, mainly in the field of light music, including in the famous Parisian cafe - foley Foley Berger and in the casino Monte Carlo . He is the author of numerous operettas, of which the “Vagrant Artists” ( French Les Saltimbanques ; 1899 ), patriotic marches (the “Lorraine March” is often performed in French military parades), and various dance music were most successful.
