Biography

Adrian Aleksandrovich Matushevich was born on May 18, 1899 in the city of Izyaslav Volyn governorship of the Russian Empire .

In 1931 he graduated from the Kiev Civil Engineering Institute (Faculty of Urban Planning).

From 1941 to 1943, he worked as an architect of the Architectural and Construction Directorate of the Kiev City Council.

From 1943 to 1944, he served as the chief architect of Kiev.

In 1944 and 1945, as the first deputy chief architect of Kiev.

From 1945 to 1946 he worked as a consultant to the Office of the Chief Architect of Kiev.

  • The construction of the Left Bank of Kiev (1933-1941)
  • The general plan for the reconstruction of Kiev (1936-1941)
  • The development project of Khreshchatyk (1944-1945).
