History
In 1909, the Huinan Directly Managed Commissariat (辉南 直隶 厅) was formed. After the Xinhai Revolution in China, there was a reform of the administrative-territorial division, during which the commissariats were abolished, and in 1913 Huinan directly controlled commissariat was transformed into Huinan county of Fengtian province (in 1929 renamed Liaoning ).
After the seizure of the Chinese Northeast by the Japanese and the formation of the puppet state of Manchukuo , the administrative-territorial division was reformed there, and in 1937 the county became part of the new Tonghua province.
After World War II, the government of the Chinese Republic divided the main territory of the modern Chinese Northeast into 9 provinces , and these lands became part of the province of Andun . After these lands came under the control of the Chinese Communists, Andun Province was liquidated, and these lands became part of Liaodong Province since 1949. In 1954, Liaodong Province was liquidated, and these lands were transferred to Jilin Province.
