Meihekou ( Chinese ex. П , pinyin : Méihékǒu , literally: “mouth of the Meihe River”) is a city county of Tonghua City District, Jilin Province ( PRC ).

History
During the Qing Empire in 1902, the Hailong Government (海龙 府) was formed in these places. After the Xinhai Revolution in China, the administrative structure was reformed, during which the councils were abolished, and in 1913 the Hailong (海龙 县) county of Fengtian Province was formed, which was renamed Liaoning Province in 1929.
At the end of World War II, the government of the Republic of China carried out an administrative-territorial redistribution of the Northeast , and Hailong County became part of the new province of Liaobei . In 1949, Liaobei Province was disbanded, and Hailong County became part of the new Liaodong Province. After the dissolution of Liaodong Province in 1954, Hailong County became part of the Jilin Province.
In 1985, by decree of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Hailong County was disbanded, and Meihekou City County was formed in its place.
