Party History
The Social-Christian Party was registered by the Ministry of Justice on July 7, 2004 and entered in the Register of Political Parties of Ukraine under No. 96. Oksana Bilozir became the first chairman of the party (March 2004 - March 2005).
In March 2005, the party was headed by Vladimir Vladyko .
In the 2006 parliamentary elections , the Social-Christian Party did not overcome the three percent barrier, receiving support only from 22,953 voters, or 0.09% of the actual vote [1] .
In July 2007, the Social-Christian Party relieved the party chairman Volodymyr Vladyko of his duties, electing Anton Ruzhytskyy as the party’s deputy from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from Our Ukraine bloc . Later, the change of party leader was challenged and canceled by the Ministry of Justice.
At the unification congress on August 20, 2007, the Social-Christian Party and the All-Ukrainian Political Party "Ecology and Social Protection" formed the Christian Bloc electoral bloc to participate in the 2007 early parliamentary elections . The block list was headed by the pastor of the Christian Evangelical Church, chairman of the All-Ukrainian Political Party - Ecology and Social Protection Sergey Balyuk. The first five also included Anton Ruzhytsky, head of the Social-Christian Party, Zoya Vybornaya, head of the Ecology and Social Protection party secretariat, Anatoly Kashuba, pastor of the religious community of Evangelical Christians and Baptists Vladimir Gorbachev, bishop of Donetsk region of independent charismatic churches [2 ] [3] . Only 0.10% of voters voted for the Christian Bloc [4] .
The V Extraordinary Congress of the Social-Christian Party, which took place on May 24, 2008 , decided to liquidate the party and join the United Center party. Subsequently, the process of self-liquidation of the party was stopped, but some of the members moved to the " Unified Center " [5] .
On August 21, 2010, the 7th Extraordinary Congress of the Social-Christian Party took place. The congress elected Zoryan Shkiryak, the former deputy of the Kiev City Council, as its leader. Former party chairman Vladimir Vladyko led the party’s Central Secretariat. The first deputy chairman of SHP was Oleg Moskalenko [6] .
On April 24, 2012, the chairman of the Social-Christian Party Zoryan Shkiryak announced his joining the United Opposition “Fatherland” [7] [8] .
On March 15, 2014, the VIII Congress of the Social-Christian Party was held, which elected Konstantin Sokolov as the head of the party. as well as vice-chairmen and the Central Council of the party [9] .
