Biography
Comes from Belarusian peasants. Born March 26, 1937 in the Donbass , where her father was one of the leaders of the theater. With the outbreak of World War II in the USSR, the father was appointed the head of the military hospital and sent to the front, and the mother with two children (the eldest daughter was 7 years old, the youngest Svetlana - 4) was evacuated to Kazakhstan .
On the way, we were faced with monstrous human cruelty, I probably never met anything like this in my life. At one of the stops, my mother got out of the car to buy milk - my sister and I were sick. Coupe neighbors, fearing to get infected, threw us onto an open squad platform. Returning and not finding us in the compartment, my mother grabbed a blanket and ran to look. So, in a blanket, sick children rode in the open air to the next station. My sister died, but I was sick for a year and survived thanks to a miracle. [one]
She began to go to school in Stalingrad , where her father was transferred to the marine part. In 1947, his father was arrested, and his mother temporarily drove Svetlana from Tartu , where her family lived at that time, to her native village of Kamenka in Belarus. The village was burned during the war, and its inhabitants lived in dugouts.
For 15 years, she led the one-of-a-kind traveling museum of Leo Tolstoy .
In 1981, she was appointed director of the State Museum of V.V. Mayakovsky . Thanks to the new concept, created jointly with the museum staff and involved artists, and carried out in 1987 - 1989, the reconstruction brought the Mayakovsky Museum to 4 place among Moscow museums in terms of attendance by foreign tourists after the Kremlin , the Armory and the Diamond Fund .
