Geography
The village of Gagarino is located in the north of the Zadonsky district, on the left bank of the Don [2] .
History
In 1924, on the northern outskirts of the village of Gagarino [3] , a parking site of the Upper Paleolithic age of approx. 22 thousand years, which, like the parking lots of Pushkari I , Kostenki I , Borshchevo I , Berdyzh , belongs to the gravetta culture ) [4] . Nine realistic female figures from the mammoth tusk and one unique double figure were found [2] [5] .
