Denis Vyacheslavovich Lopushnoy (born January 30, 1977 ) is a Russian chess player and grandmaster .

Born in the family of the Kuzbass writer Vyacheslav Lopushny . He learned to play chess with his father at the age of 4 years. At the same age he went to the chess section, where Gennady Zenkov taught. Since 1985, he studied with the Honored Coach of Russia Evgeny Andreev [2] in the School of Sports and Sport [3] at KuzPI .
Denis achieved his first successes in the international arena under the guidance of the honored trainer of Russia, grandmaster Alexander Khasin . In 1998, at the tournament in Linares , while still a candidate for the master , he defeated the Spanish grandmaster I. Thabarri [4] ; in the same year he became an international master.
1998 - in Tomsk, as part of the team of ShK Novokuznetsk, winner of the team championship of Siberia and the Far East (1st league). Personal result (5.5 out of 7). 1st place on the 3rd board.
1999 - in Chinese Shenyang became the world champion [5] in the team of Kemerovo in the second world championship among cities. He became a grandmaster in 2000 . In 2001, he left chess and began to build a career in marketing.
