Ayman Sholpan ( Kazakh. Ayman-Sholpan ) - Kazakh folk lyric-epic poem of the first half of the XIX century .
Content
Story
In the center of the plot is the girl Ayman, who frees herself and her sister Sholpan from captivity and reconciles the warring labors. Famous historical figures play the main roles in it: batyrs and biies. The content of the poem consists of the internecine struggle of Maman’s family from the Tam clan and Batyr Kotibar from the Shekta family. The poem poeticized the popular notion of honor, generosity, courage, resourcefulness. In the work, the aul nomadic life is well shown, bai and batyrs are mocked.
The poem was composed not earlier than the 50s of the XIX century. It was first published in 1896 by the Kazakh ethnographer Zhusipbek Shaykhislamuly [1] .
Features
Unlike the more ancient monuments of the Kazakh epos (“ Koblandy-batyr ”, “ Alpamysh ”, “ Yer-Targyn ”), in “Ayman - Sholpan” there are no mythological images.
In Kazakh folk literature, truly Kazakh lyrical epics end sadly, but Ayman-Sholpan is the only poem with a happy ending.
Theater
Based on the folk poem Mukhtar Auezov created comedy of the same name.
