Male Svatonovice ( Czech Malé Svatoňovice , also translated as Male Svatonovice ) is a village and municipality in the region of Trutnov, Hradec Králové Region . The village is located next to the Giant Mountains .

In the central square of the village is the Catholic Church of the Baroque of the Virgin Mary , built in 1734 .
In Male Свwatonyowice, mines mining rock were once active. Also at the beginning at the end of the XIX century - beginning of XX there was a resort with mineral waters. From 1850 until World War II , the city had a large railway station serving coal mines.
Karel Čapek (1890–1938) was born in Male Свwatonyowice. His older brother, the artist cubist Joseph Chapek (1887-1945) also lived here during this period. Апapek mentioned the village in some of his works (Nine Fairy Tales, 1933) [1] . Now there is a museum of the Chapek brothers (founded in 1946 ) [2] , where there is an exhibition of paintings by Joseph Chapek.
