Career
Peters began skating in Dublin at the age of 7 years [2] . When the skating rink in Dublin closed, she was forced to ride a training session in Belfast ( Northern Ireland ) for 2.5 hours [3] . In 2006, Clara, in search of better conditions for training, moved to the United States, to Ron Ladington and his wife Karen [4] .
Peters initially competed in UK domestic tournaments. For example, it was the 9th at the 2007 British Championship among the “newcomers”. In the 2008-2009 season, when Ireland became a temporary member of the International Skating Union, Clara began to represent the country in international competitions.
Peters was 38th at the 2009 European Championships and became the first Ireland skater to compete in international competitions [1] . At the world championships that year, she was 52nd.
She greatly improved her results in the 2011-2012 season, having passed qualifications for the first time at the European and World Championships , becoming the 28th and 29th, respectively. After the World Cup, Peters said that entering the short program is a “big deal”, and this means that all her work has paid off [5] .
Personal life
Clara Peters was born in Germany because her parents worked there. When Clara was 18 months old, the family returned to Ireland , and Clara grew up in Dublin .
