For 10 years, he was first a chorus, and then a choirmaster in the chapel of the princes of Estergazy in Eisenstadt . During this period, among other things, in 1831 , he acquired a clavichord as a relic, belonging to Joseph Haydn who once worked there, thanks to which this instrument came to our time safely [1] .

In 1832 , he won the competition for filling the vacant position of bandmaster in the cathedral of the city of Gyor and remained in this post until the end of his life, having a significant impact on the musical life of the city. In 1846, he also founded the city men's choir. Under the direction of Richter for the first time in Györ, Haydn’s oratorio “The Seasons” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera “ Everybody Do It” were performed. In addition, Richter led extensive pedagogical practice, and married one of his students, Jozhefa Chazenski, the future opera singer.

Died of a stroke.
