“Quatermass 2” ( Eng. Quatermass 2 ) or “Enemy From Space” ( Eng. Enemy From Space ) - a film directed by Val Guest , which was released in 1957 . The film is based on the television series of the same name ( Quatermass II ), shown on the BBC Television in 1955. The tape is the second full-length film about the adventures of Professor Quatermass and is part of a series of classic horror films shot by the British studio Hammer . The film is included by Stephen King in the list of the most significant works of the genre from 1950 to 1980.

Story
Employees of the British radar station find on their monitors strange objects slowly falling to Earth from space. The flows of these objects are observed for several nights in a row, so they decide to report this to their boss, Professor Quatermass. Estimates show that the site of impact of objects is approximately 150 km from the station. Quatermass with his assistant Marsh goes there and discovers the restricted area where the strange plant is located. Near him they find one of the fallen objects. When Marsh picks it up to examine, puffs of steam break out of the subject and leave an unusual burn on his face. Meanwhile, Quatermass and his companion are surrounded by the guards of the plant, which takes Marsh with him, and the professors are rudely escorted from the zone. Quatermass decides to find out what is happening here, and turns to the old acquaintance Inspector Lomax for help.
