Biography
Born in Moscow on August 31, 1927. In 1942, she graduated externally from a junior high school, after which she continued her studies and in 1945 completed her secondary education. In the same year, she entered the eastern branch of the philological faculty of MV Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in Turkic philology.
Influenced by university teachers - N. K. Dmitriev , V. M. Nasilov , E. N. Nadzhip , E. V. Sevortyan , Iranian A. A. Starikov, Blagova early showed interest in the history of literary languages in Central and Central Asia , to historical grammar of relevant languages, the search for new research techniques.
In 1954, Blagova defended her thesis . Her theme was a philological study of the most important work of Emperor Babur , his Notes " Babur-name ." With this, Blagova continued the tradition of their scientific research, which had been interrupted for a long time in the USSR.
From 1956 to 1974, inclusive, Blagova, as the head of the department of languages and writing of the peoples of the USSR, was engaged in editorial activities in the journal Voprosy linguistics (VY), of which 14 years (1956-1969) under the supervision of its chief editor, Academician V.V. Vinogradov .
Since the end of 1975, Blagova is a senior researcher in the Turkic and Mongolian languages sector of the Institute of Linguistics of the USSR Academy of Sciences . Also in 1975-1987 - scientific secretary of the Soviet Committee of Turkologists at the Department of Literature and Language (OLA) of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
In 1982, Blagova defended her doctoral dissertation, published in the form of a monograph, "Turkic declination in historical-historical coverage."
Since the mid-1980s - a member of the editorial board of the journal " Soviet Turkology ".
In the 1990s and 2000s, Blagova devoted a lot of work to the historiography of Turkic linguistics.
As a member of the Ural-Altai languages department, G. F. Blagova actively participated in the long-term development of important research areas of Turkic linguistics - comparative historical grammar and the Etymological Dictionary of Turkic languages (ESTYA) .
In recent years, G. F. Blagova was a leading researcher at the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences , a member of the Special Council for the defense of doctoral dissertations, a member of the editorial boards of the journals “Ural-Altai Studies” and “ Russian Turkology ”.
