Name Origin
The name Sorts (formerly Sarta) may come from the ethnonym Sartula . There is an opinion that this ethnonym is derived from the word Sarta - the general name of a part of the population of Central Asia in the 15th - 19th centuries , in particular, the so-called Tajiks and Uzbeks [2] [3] .
