Ground station, two-tier. The levels are identical in structure: each has three paths and two island platforms. The upper level of the station is served by BMT West End Line and by trains D (external tracks, the express central route is not used for block trains). The lower level served before the BMT Culver Line train, is now abandoned and closed to passengers. Both levels connect the stairs, which are now closed with iron bars. Top-level platforms are equipped with awnings. In 2010, the upper level of the station was repaired. The only exit from the station is from the western end of the platforms.
The lower level of the platforms was used as part of the BMT Culver Line trains, following the BMT Fourth Avenue Line or the BMT Fifth Avenue Line . Until 1954, the lower level was actively used by the trains of this message. In 1954, most of the BMT Culver Line (south of Ditmas Avenue ) was reconnected to the IND Culver Line underground line, while all trains from Coney Island to Stillwell Avenue used this new connection. This led to a sharp decline in rolling stock between Ninth Avenue and Ditmas Avenue . An additional platform for the shuttle train was built at Ditmas Avenue station, and the section itself became a single track: a shuttle was followed along it. True, some trains continued to follow to Manhattan until 1959 . The shuttle movement was completely closed on May 11, 1975 - from this day the lower level of the platforms is not used.
At the lower level of the platforms of this station, the final scene of the 1986 film Dundee, nicknamed “Crocodile” , was shot, although this station in the film is given out for 59th Street - Columbus Circle . To the east of the platforms of the lower level, the line went on an overpass, to the west it joined the upper level, having also a connection with the nearby depot 36th — 38th Street Yard .
