Description
Between the two ostrich feathers there is a white surface of the crown, similar to an elongated bulb. Ostrich feathers, lush at the base, form a small curl on top. The same feathers (only one at a time) were worn by the goddess of wisdom Maat . The feathers of the athef crown are somewhat similar to the feathers of the tail of a falcon, they are also similar to the feathers of Amon's crown , only he has narrower, straight lines and do not curl from above.

Osifis can be recognized by the crown of atef in ancient Egyptian frescoes . The crown of atef on the head of Osiris is a kind of symbol of the management of the underworld . Feathers embody truth, justice and balance. In appearance, the atef crown is similar to the hedge crown worn by the pharaohs of Upper Egypt . The difference between the two crowns is that on the crown of the hedge there were no feathers on the sides.
The hemhemet crown is also called the “triple crown of atef.”
