Achille Guenée ( French Achille Guenée ) - French entomologist, author of numerous descriptions in the taxonomy of butterflies. He has published 63 works, some co-authored with (1774–1846) and Jean-Baptiste Buaduval (1799–1879), of which Species des nocturnes , Histoire naturelle des Insectes are the most famous . Species général des Lépidoptères (parts 5-10, 1836-1857). Since 1832, a member of the French Entomological Society , its president since 1848 and an honorary member since 1874.
