History
ArenaNet was founded in 2000 by Mike O'Brien , Patrick Wyatt and Jeff Strain . All three came from Blizzard Entertainment and previously participated in the development of games such as Warcraft , Diablo , Starcraft , World of Warcraft, and the Battle.net game network.
The newly formed organization was originally called Triforge, but was soon renamed ArenaNet.
ArenaNet was acquired by NCsoft in 2002.
Staff
Within three years, the number of ArenaNet employees has grown to 250+ people. Two of the three founders left the company, but there are several other staff members who are “visible” to the community of players. For example Regina Buenaobra , Martin Kerstein and Gail Gray . The full list of ArenaNet teams can be seen in the Guild Wars 1 game credits, as well as on the official ArenaNet website (listed in the list of links at the bottom of the page).
