The Pirate Battle - a battle in the Serbian-Bulgarian war, held on November 26 and 27, 1885 between the Western Corps of the Bulgarian Army and the Nishav Army of Serbia.

Background
After a three-day battle of the Slivnitsa (November 5-7), which ended with the defeat of the Serbian army, the Bulgarians go on the offensive. The Western Corps, after successful battles under Gurgulyat (November 7) and under Dragoman (November 10), approached Pirot. Serbian Nishav army takes defensive positions east of the city.

Western Corps
The western corps was under the command of Daniel Nikolaev and included:
- Captain Panitsa's detachment (1600 people)
- Captain Bendrev's Squad
- Column of Major Gujev (a total of about 9,000 people)
- Column of Lieutenant Colonel Mutkurov (a total of about 6000)
- Column of Captain Nikiforov (a total of about 4,000)
- Column of Major Stoyanov (a total of about 4,000)
- Captain Popov's detachment (about 4,000 people)
- Reserve commanded by Colonel Dmitry Filov
- First Echelon (6 battalions, 7 squadrons)
- Second tier (6½ battalion, 3 batteries)
- Third echelon (1st and 2nd groups of Sofia volunteers)
- Second tier (6½ battalion, 3 batteries)
- First Echelon (6 battalions, 7 squadrons)
