Native copper is a mineral of the class of native elements , Cu. Native copper contains 97–99% Cu . In addition, it may contain impurities of Fe, Ag, Au, Zn, Pb, Hg, Bi, Sb, V, Ge [1] .

The type of crystals is cubic, dodecahedral, less often octahedral. Simple crystals are rare. Ordinary twin splices. Flat and voluminous dendrites , plates, dense continuous mass (the largest nugget weighed 420 tons), small inclusions, powdery and spherulite precipitates are typical [1] .
The color in the fresh fracture of the mineral is light pink, turning into copper red, then brown. Shine is metallic, hook-shaped fracture . Hardness 2.5-3. The density of 8.4-8.9. Forging. It has high electrical conductivity [1] .
Native copper is formed in endogenous and exogenous processes. Associates with cuprite , azurite , malachite , chrysocolla , tenorite and other minerals. Enriched in the DOS. flotation . The largest field is in the area of Lake. Upper ( USA ) [1] . In Russia, the largest field is the Udokan field in the Trans-Baikal Territory [2] .
