Biography
Representative of an old Tiflis Armenian princely family. Born in the family of the future general Alexander Evseevich Betabekov and his wife - Ekaterina Ivanovna nee Sharoeva.
During the Russo-Turkish war (1877-1878) he was the captain of the 39th artillery brigade. For the difference in affairs on September 20 and 21 at the heights of B. Yagna and Aladzhi on November 26, 1878 he was awarded the Order of St. George IV degree: [1]
βIn the case of September 20, when occupying Aladzhiβs heights in the rear of the Turkish position, while the enemy, among the 25 battalions of Nizam, [2] went on the offensive against the five in the detachment of General Shelkovnikov, following on the heels of the rifle chain through the catwalk, headquarters captain Prince Bektabekov, despite the strong rifle fire of the Turks, stopped the detachment of the 6th battery entrusted to him in the head of the detachment and took an advantageous position with it, from which he opened fire on the enemy pursuing from the beginning with buckshot, and then Garnet E. In the years 1884-1891, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he served as a staff officer under the troops of the Caucasian Military District.
He died in 1893.
