Spice (album)

Spice is the debut studio album of the British pop group Spice Girls . It was released on November 4, 1996 via Virgin Records . The album became platinum ten times in Great Britain and Canada, platinum seven times in the USA, and also received platinum statuses in many countries of Europe and the world. In total, the album sold over 28 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling album for girl bands in music history and one of the most successful albums.

About the album

The album was recorded at Olympic Studios in London from 1995 to 1996. Five songs from the album were released as singles: “ Wannabe ”, “ Say You'll Be There ”, “ 2 Become 1 ”, “ Who Do You Think You Are ” and “ Mama ”; "Who Do You Think You Are" and "Mama" - were released as a double-A in the UK, Ireland and other countries. The first single of the album “Wannabe” reached the first place in the charts of 31 countries of the world, and the next two singles “Say You'll Be There” and “2 Become 1” reached the top of the charts in 53 countries of the world. The song “Who Do You Think You Are” became the official single of the organization De-Laughing and was released as a double-A along with the song “Mama” and both songs were included in the top twenty on the European charts, as well as in Australia and New Zealand. In the UK, four singles from the album reached the first line of the charts, and in the US five singles rose to the top of the Billboard 200 .
