“ Kakavin Kharivangsa ” (“Rod of Krishna”) is an ancient Javanese poem written on the basis of the Indian Kavya metric system in the middle of the XII century . The poem tells the story of how Krishna married the princess Rukmini . It is a retelling of part of the Indian Sanskrit poem " Harivamsha ". Harivangsa is often used in productions of the Indonesian Wayang Shadow Theater.
