History

The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built in 1840 [1] . In the 1930s and 1940s, the temple was under the threat of complete destruction; it was only the fact that the temple building was used as a warehouse for a military unit [19] that saved it from destruction. Crosses and bells from the temple were dropped, the property of the temple was looted, the stairs and bells were given to the fire department [3] . Divine services in the temple were resumed in 1946-1947 [2] . Some time ago, one of the bells was returned to the temple [3] .

Temple

The temple now contains many lists of the icons of the Mother of God : Kazan , Svyatogorsk , Pochaev , All-Tsaritsa , Mammal and others. Many icons were brought by the parishioners of the temple from pilgrimage trips. The list of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God and the image of the Recovery of the Dead are considered especially revered and miraculous. The parishioners made an ark , installed in the temple to the left of the altar . A stone from the Jordan River, a stone from the source of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Mary Magdalene , a stone from Mount Sinai , an acorn from Mamvrian oak , a stone from a mountain where the head of the martyr Vasilisa was cut off, a stone from the cave of St. Elijah is stored and presented for worship. Also, parishioners made a reliquary , installed in the temple to the right of the altar; in the reliquary there are particles of the relics of Joasaph of Belgorod , George the Victorious , Theodosius of the Caucasus, Rafail of Optina, Alexandra, Mary, Martha, Pelagia, Paraskeva Diveevsky, Spiridon Trimifuntsky , Ignatius Celebnik, Grand Duchess Anastasia of Kiev [4] .
