Dimitrie Harlescu ( rum. Dimitrie Hârlescu ; November 5, 1872 , Falticeni - November 23, 1923 , Tecuci ) is a Romanian artist.

He graduated from the Munich Academy of Arts . Formed under the influence of the Munich secession , later evolved towards expressionism , finding inspiration in the images of the urban lower classes. During his studies, he married the artist Elena Mitrya and settled with her in her homeland in Tekuca, where he taught at the gymnasium. Together with Nicolae Vermont painted the city church of John the Baptist. Among his students, in particular, Marius Bunescu .
Harlescu is named after the street ( rum. Strada Pictor Dimitrie Hârlescu ) in Bucharest .
