Biography and Activities
He was an adviser to Marie Antoinette in the process of the necklace and one of the three defenders [1] of Louis XVI before the National Convention ; his defensive speech is considered exemplary.
During the terror, he was imprisoned, but 9 Thermidors restored his freedom. Louis XVIII appointed him in 1814 the chairman of the court of cassation. During the Hundred Days, de Cez followed the royal court; after the second restoration, he received the count's title and the rank of peer of France .
