Joshua, Prem

Prem Joshua was born in Germany in a family of musicians. From the age of five, he began to learn to play the flute , and later learned to play the saxophone . As a teenager, Joshua performed in various rock, jazz and fusion groups as a flutist and saxophonist. His musical creativity was greatly impressed by musical compositions on the sitar of Ravi Shankar . In the late 1970s, at the age of 18, Joshua left home, school, curtailed his career plans and went on a trip to India , following an emotional outburst.

In India, Joshua met the Indian guru and mystic Osho , who introduced him to meditation and spiritual practices. Joshua began to comprehend the art of "Inner Music". For several years he lived in the Osho community in Pune , bringing together many musicians from around the world. There, Joshua learned to play the sitar from the Indian teacher Ustad Usman Khan.

In the early 1990s, Joshua returned to Europe, where he created a unique style of music based on a synthesis of ancient music of the East with modern music of the West. To date, he has released more than 15 music albums and continues to give concerts around the world.
