Gogaz or unofficially New Gogaz ( Lezg Tsyiyi Gyugvezar ) is a village in the Akhtynsky district of Dagestan . Administratively included in the Khryugsky Village Council . One of the two enclaves of the Akhtyn region in the territory of the Magaramkent region .

Geography
Novy Gogaz is a foothill village and is located in the south of Dagestan, five kilometers west of the M-29 Caucasus federal highway near the village of New Usur . From all sides Novy Gogaz is surrounded by the territory of the Magaramkent district.

The population of the village of New Gogaz is historically divided into patrimonial patronyms - Tukhum.
- Psiyar (self-name Yalavatar) - the first Tukhum who founded the village, lived on a hill in the center of Gogaz. They were distinguished by special physical strength, reckless courage and extreme hot temper. They have a Nordic anthropology.
- Tatlar - Tukhum, which has Tat roots.

History
The village of Novy Gogaz was formed in the late 1970s, in connection with the resettlement of the inhabitants of the alpine village of Gogaz , located in the mountains of the Akhtynsky district, to the plain. Most of the Gogaz residents moved to the cities of Makhachkala, Derbent, etc. They also live in most villages of the Khachmaz region and in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan. Alpine Gogaz is now empty.
Economics and Infrastructure
Residents of the village are engaged in agricultural activities. The village has a comprehensive school.
