The riot police ( fr. Maison d'Aumont ) - a French noble family, who had owned the Vilque-Omon estate and lands in the current department of Marne . Since 1665, the head of the clan bore the title of duke . Since 1669, the title of the first of four chamber junkers ( Premier gentilhomme de la Chambre ) becomes hereditary in the family. Of the representatives of the genus are issued:

• Jean VI ( Jean VI d'Aumont ; 1522–1595), Marshal of France , a follower of Henry IV , who distinguished himself in the battles of Arc and Ivry . For his open knightly character he was nicknamed by fellows Franc Gaulois .
• Antoine ( Antoine d'Aumont de Rochebaron ; 1601–1669), grandson of the previous one, Marquis de Vilchier, won the Marshal’s baton , and later the ducal title, from 1662 for the victory over the Fronds under Retel (1650); married to niece Scarron .
• Louis Marie Augustin ( Louis Marie Augustin d'Aumont de Rochebaron ; 1709–1782), 5th Duke, Lieutenant General, Peer of France; owned a remarkable collection of art objects - porcelain, bronze, marble and other items.
• Louise ( Louise d'Aumont Mazarin , 1759–1826) was the granddaughter of the previous one, heir to the wealth of the Mazarin family, a famous socialite , the wife of the Prince of Monaco .
• Louis Marie Celeste ( Louis Marie Céleste d'Aumont ; 1762–1831), grandson of the 5th Duke, who bore the title of Duke de Pienne ; known for his landing in Normandy shortly before the entry of the allied army in Paris . He introduced into fashion a special dandy harness named after him (à la d'Aumont).
