Biography
Gabas Bratov was born in the village of Maly Zelenchuk (now the Khabez district of Karachay-Cherkessia) on September 13, 1930. Educated at the Circassian Pedagogical School, after which he worked in the newspaper " Lenin Nur ." Bratov was also a literary consultant in the Karachay-Cherkess Union of Writers and editor of a book publishing house.
Creativity
The first works of Bratov were published in the newspaper Cherkess Plyzhzh in 1949-1950. Many of his works were published in the Nalchik magazine ӀUashchjemahue. Among them are stories, humoresques, novels “When the snowdrops bloom”, “Hope is the inheritance of the father”, “Procreation”, the short story “Bird of paradise”. In the newspaper “Lenin nur” in the 1980s and early 1990s, his novels “The hero's star does not go out”, “Disturbing nights” and “Memory of love” were published. Bratov’s works were also published in the collective collections of Circassian writers “Song of Happiness”, “Bright Path”, “New Steps”, “Joy”, “Homeland is Blooming”, “True Way”, “Clean Road”.
