Content
History
Farm Marine (Round-Sea) was founded at the beginning of the XIX century. For the first time it is indicated on the "Detailed map of the land of the Don Army, drawn up in 1833 under the leadership of Major General Bogdanov" [2] The name of the farm received from the nearby lakes and estuaries. [3] . According to another version, Morskoy Farm was founded by Cossack Morskov. [four]
Before the revolution, the Old Believers lived in Morskoye.
According to the "List of Populated Places of the Earth of the Don Army" [5] for 1859, on the territory of the Kruglo-Morskoi farm with an area of 53 versts, 29 yards were inhabited by 115 males and 163 females. The farm developed and grew at a rapid pace and already according to the "List of Populated Places of the Earth of the Don Army" census for 1873 [6] in the village. The sea was: courtyards - 130; number of inhabitants - 361, railway station - 390.
There is a mass grave on the farm, on which a monument was erected in 1966. A few decades later, the monument fell into disrepair, and a new obelisk was erected in its place [7] .
Geography
Morskoy Khutor is located in the south-west of the Volgograd region, about 60 km southeast of the urban type Chernyshkovsky , on the northern border of the Tsimlyansky massif of sand, along the Nizhnegnutov - Tormosin dirt road.
