The jurisdiction of the diocese includes 70 parishes in 44 communes of Molise : 38 in the provinces of Campobasso - Campobasso , Boyano , Elsi , Gambateza , Sepino , Vinkyaturo , Sant'Eliya a Pianisi , Petrella Tifernina , Pietracatella , San Giovanno in Ferrazzano , Ricci , Busso , Campocchiaro , Mirabello Sannitiko , Monachiglioni , Montagano , Oratino , Ripalimozani , Sant'Angelo Limosano , Spinete , Colle d'Ankise , Churchamaggiore , Campodipietra , Baranello , San Jello Sannio , Macchia Valfortore , Castellino del Biferno , San Polo Matese , Gildone , Matrica , Limosano , Tufara , Churchpiccola , San Massimo , Toro ; 6 in the province of Isernia - Cantalupo nel Sannio , Santa Maria del Molise , Castelpetrozo , Macchiagoden , Sant'Elena Sannita and Roccamandolfi .
The Department of the Archbishop Metropolitan is located in the city of Campobasso in the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity ; in the town of Boyano is the co- cathedral of St. Bartholomew .
In Castelpetrozo is the most famous sanctuary of the Madonna dell Addolorata ( Our Lady of Sorrows) in Molise.

History
The department in Boyano was founded in the XI century . For the first time, Bishop Boyano, without a name, was mentioned in 1061 by Ulrich, Archbishop of Benevento .
On June 29, 1927, by the bull Ad rectum of Pope Pius XI, the bishop's residence was moved to Campobasso , and the diocese was renamed the diocese of Boyano Campobasso.
On February 11, 1973, the diocese, which had the status of a bishopric-suffraganism of the Benevento Archdiocese, was elevated to the rank of archdiocese by the bull Pontificalis Nostri of Pope Paul VI .
On August 21, 1976, the archdiocese received the status of a metropolis. On February 27, 1982, it was renamed the Archbishopric of Campobasso Boyano.
