Isaac Markovic Bubis (original name Isaac Matusovic Bubes ; January 1 ( 14 ), 1910 , Chisinau , Bessarabian Province - June 5, 2000 , Louisville [1] , USA ) - Moldavian Soviet engineer-architect.

Born in the family of Matus Moiseevich Bubes (originally from Starokonstantinov ) and Khai Dizengoff, niece of the first mayor of Tel Aviv, Meir Dizengoff [2] . He graduated from the 2nd male gymnasium in Chisinau, then the Polytechnic in Prague (1935) [3] . In the 1930s, he was a member of the communist underground in Bessarabia . In 1941-1945 he worked on the construction of railways near Stalingrad .
In 1947-1967 he was the chief engineer of the Chisinau master plan project, led the creative team of planning engineers at the Moldgiprostroy Institute for the reconstruction of the historic city center, as well as the development of Balti , Leovo , Bender , Tiraspol , Orhei , Soroc , Cahul and other cities of Moldova [3] [4] [5] . Since 1989 - in the USA .
He is the author of the monograph “The Architects of Bernardazzi” (Chisinau: Shtiintsa, 1997) and a number of articles on the work of this family of architects [6] [7] [8] [9] .
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR .
