The youngest of four children, Simon from childhood dreamed of becoming an actor. He made his debut on the stage in 1983, at the age of 19, when he studied at the university. In 1989, he was first awarded the prize - it was the Golden Devil Award of the city of Karor . In the late 1980s, he moved to Caracas , where in 1989 he made his debut on TV ( Venevision ). The first 5 years he played mainly supporting roles. In 1994, Pestana switched to RCTV, where he immediately got the main role in the telenovela “Pura Sangre”, which brought him great audience success. In 1996-1998, he worked in Argentina and Peru, where he also achieved significant success. In 1999 he returned to RCTV, where he again received the main role in the telenovela "Carita Pintada". From this time until about 2004, Simon Pestana is one of the leading actors in RCTV.

His work in the telenovelas of this channel has been repeatedly awarded prestigious prizes. At the same time plays a lot in the theater. In 2004, Pestana tries himself in the political field by running for office in one of the municipalities of Caracas, but fails. Nevertheless, since that time, the actor has been an active supporter of the policy of President Hugo Chavez, and in 2007 he supported the deprivation of the RCTV channel of a broadcasting license. In 2005-2006, Simon Pestana was an actor in Venevision, and then took part in the creation of the new TVES channel, which began broadcasting in May 2007, at a frequency previously occupied by RCTV. A little later, Pestana opens his own production company, which makes television films on the history and geography of Venezuela, broadcast on TVES. In 2011, Simon Pestana for the first time performed in an unusual comic role playing in the first Venezuelan sitcom “Hotel de Locuras”. In the theater he played the role of the Argentine composer and dancer Carlos Gardel in the play “Gardel vivito y tangueando”. In 2012, he began filming in the title role in the next biographical film about Simon Bolivar .

Simon Pestana is the happy father of two daughters: Paola (from marriage with Mariela Romero Sarkos) and Mariana (from actress Lily Renteria). Currently divorced.
