Career

Club

Jules Vandoren spent most of his player career at the Olympic Lille club, which he played for from 1928 to 1939. As part of the Olympic, the defender participated in the first championship of France and became the winner of this tournament. In 1939, Vandoren as part of the “dogs” reached the final of the French Cup , where his team lost to the Parisian “Racing” with a score of 1: 3. Soon after, Vandoren moved to Red Star , which he played for two years. He completed his football career at Reims in 1943 .

In the national team

Jules Vandoren made his debut in the French national team on February 12, 1933 in a friendly match with Austria [1] . The defender twice (in 1934 and 1938 ) fell into the application of the national team for participation in the World Cup , but did not play in any match at the world championships.

December 13, 1936 Vandoren for the first time in his career played for the national team with a captain's armband. This happened in a friendly match with the national team of Yugoslavia

Coaching

Jules Vandoren began his coaching career in 1941, playing for Reims as a playing coach. Later he headed the French and Belgian clubs, as well as the national team of Senegal (from 1961 to 1963). With Gent , Vandoren in 1955 became the vice-champion of Belgium . “Gent” was the last club in the coaching career of Vandoren, which ended in 1970 .
